Lawyer activist Prashant Bhushan, who regularly spreads fake news on social media, made another such claim today. In a post on X on Saturday, the leftist activist claimed that Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand University will award 50 marks to students for attending PM Narendra Modi’s rally.
Bhushan posted a ‘notice’ from the university ‘announcing the reward’, which stated that all B.Tech CSE and Specialization (2nd Year) and BCA (2nd Year) students must attend the upcoming event at FRI on Sunday, 9th November 2025, where an interaction with the Prime Minister of India will take place. It stated, “Attendance in this event will be considered under the Bharatiya Gyan Parampara (Indian Knowledge System) course, and 50 internal marks will be awarded to each participant.”

The ’notice further added, “Hence, participation in this event is mandatory for all programs having the Indian Knowledge System course.”
While the ‘notice’ was issued by BCA head of department Rohit Goyal and B.Tech CSE program coordinator Govind Singh Panwar, it contained no signature.
After the ‘notice’ appeared on social media, Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand University issued a clarification saying that the notice is fake. In a post on Facebook, the private university stated, “It has come to our attention that a fake notice has been circulated in the name of DBUU regarding marks for the upcoming visit to FRI on 09 November 2025. We would like to clarify that the notice is completely false and not issued or approved by the University. It does not bear any official signature, reference number, or authorization.”
The university also posted an official notification saying, ‘It has come to the notice of the University Authorities that a fake notice has been circulated recently in the name of Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University through unknown means of technology. All concerned are hereby informed that the said notice is completely fake and not issued by the University. It does not bear the official letterhead, reference number, signature of any competent authority, and was not approved or released through any authorized channel of the University. The University hereby declares that the said notice is fake.”
Unlike the previous notice, this one has been signed by the registrar along with the seal. Later PIB Fact Check also posted on X that the notice posted by Prashant Bhushan is fake.
